A short letter
does most of the work
Tell us what you are looking for — a quiet weekend, a specific cottage, a long stay with a chef once a week. We will write you back by hand with what is available and any small adjustments we can offer.
A long road north,
worth taking slowly
We are at the southern edge of Ladoga, twenty kilometres outside Sortavala. Most guests arrive by train; a small handful drive, usually because they are stopping in Vyborg on the way.
Sortavala District
- By car≈ 4 hours from St. Petersburg
Take the A-121 north past Vyborg and Priozersk, then follow the smaller road from Sortavala for the last twenty kilometres.
Parking on site for one car per cottage.
- By train≈ 4h 30m from St. Petersburg
Direct Lastochka service to Sortavala station. We can arrange a complimentary transfer from the platform with three days of notice.
Free transfer included with three nights or more.
- By air≈ 5 hours via Helsinki
Fly to Helsinki-Vantaa, then the Allegro to Vyborg and a short connection to Sortavala. Border crossing adds about an hour at peak times.

Cottages open from 15:00. Check-out is at 11:00. If your travel timing is awkward, write to us — we usually find a way to flex either end by an hour or two for guests in transit.
